Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM)

Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM) is a form of investment management in which buy and sell decisions are made by Muscat Capital’s Investment Managers for our clients’ accounts and whereby the term "discretionary" refers to the fact that investment decisions are made at Muscat Capital’s portfolio manager's discretion.

DPM offers a number of benefits to our clients, including freeing them from the burden of making day-to-day investment decisions, which can arguably be better made by qualified portfolio investments managers who are attuned to the vagaries of the markets. As such, delegating the investing process to our competent managers leave the clients free to focus on other things that matter to their respective businesses and core operations.

At Muscat Capital, we have been offering our clients with tailored DPM accounts since 2010, thus providing our DPM clients with the flexibility to invest in a diversified investment spectrum, including local and regional markets. The DPM accounts are exclusively customized for institutional and high net-worth investors seeking discretionary portfolio services. We also offer Discretionary Fixed Income portfolios which invest in the Shariah-compliant instruments of GCC banks. Our DPM services are only offered to high-net-worth or institutional clients who have a significant level of investable assets.

For clients with DPM accounts, our managers act on available information quickly and efficiently, selling the position out of all their accounts in a single, cost-effective transaction. In addition, our managers are better positioned to seize buying opportunities when the markets dip and a good quality stock temporarily drops in value.

Our DPM Assets Under Management (DPM AUM) currently exceed SAR 2.2 billion, all of which came from clients who have put their confidence in our portfolio managers’ competence, integrity and trustworthiness and have trusted us with their funds after having conducted due diligence on our managers, systems and historical financial performance.
